A million people according to the organizers, half that according to the police. A massive crowd came out to support Cristina Kirchner on Wednesday, June 18, in front of the presidential palace in Buenos Aires and throughout the country. “Quantitatively, this is probably the largest mobilization of Peronism since Cristina Fernández de Kirchner left the presidency in 2015. She is once again demonstrating her ability to fill the streets,” notes the center-right newspaper Perfil .

Most of the unions, the vast majority of Peronist movements were present, as well as many Argentines who came alone or with their families to show their loyalty to the woman who remains, for the moment, the president of the Justicialist Party, the historic movement of Peronism. In the crowd, Antonio and Liliana told the left-wing daily Página12 : “This demonstration is a new milestone in the history of Peronism; they want to exclude and humiliate the main leader of the movement. But the people are there. Peronism is not just a name, it is a doctrine, and that is why we are mobilizing.”

The highlight of the rally was the playing of an audio recording of Cristina Kirchner, which was listened to religiously by the crowd.
